So is the premise here that the came width can be analogous to different pen stroke diameters for emphasizing certain lines over others?

How does it allow you to change your profiles.? I can change the profiles without using 7/32 lead came anytime I want. Are you referring to when your glass is short of what will be covered by the lead you are using? I would suggest that the glass should be cut better so you don’t need to use a different profile of lead. Not sure what you are referring to
