YouTube only goes up to 256kbps... uploading it on youtube is useless, because most videos it caps at 128, unless you have the special hq audio videos.

Listening between the two from here to google play and google play sounds better.. Not sure if that scales well after compression..

Main reason why i listen to "flac" on youtube is because it haves the best possible quality you can get from youtube

guguigugu: you're so right. However, I run my laptop through a very nice hifi amp and into a pair of Monitor Audio BX 2s. These are startlingly accurate speakers, but the downside of that is that they're totally dismissive of anything with poor quality audio parameters. Listening to this version of "Stairway", however, they're purring. So it may not be FLAC, (OK, it ISN'T FLAC :)) but it's still a whole load better than most of the sound quality one encounters on YT.
