Rock n' Roll's chapter is pretty much well and truly over now. We still have remnants and little pockets of musicians who still try to keep it alive. But with the looming engulfment of AI leading us into the new era of what music means, and is, it's becoming more and more obvious that the rock music I grew up in the 90's loving, admiring and marveling over is very much at it's end. Just in terms of its innovation and advancement. Where else can we take rock music? I'm thankful and grateful, and also surprised that rock n' roll actually lasted for as long as it did. Arguably 60 years of rock n' roll. Amazing. This song will forever encapsulate everything about rock n' roll that was great. The light and shade, the insightful but slightly vague lyrics which will forever be argued about and mulled upon. The spiritual and the visceral, the cliches, the excess, the excitement and the tears. I get overwhelmed thinking about how they did it. But this is the absolute perfect rock n' roll song, and it never will happen again. And nor should it.
