How to Install a GFCI Outlet with 4 Wires

I show how to install a GFCI outlet with 4 wires. I'm putting this GFCI in a grounded metal electrical box in the Chicago area. Ground wires aren't used, the metal box and conduit is the ground path. If your electrical box has 4 wires you will be protecting outlets past the GFCI on the load side. Always turn off the power to any circuit you are working on.

Excellent. This is the one video that I've seen that explains wiring the hot black wire+corresponding white wire to the LINE side of the gfi (etched into the back). The other b/w go the LOAD side. I had no success with my light switches until my gfi outlet wires were in that order. Thank you brother!

this comment is for people who don't trust the video. This worked perfect for me. Just make sure that the amps of the new socket matches the one labeled for the circuit. So if the switch that you have to turn off says "15, " make sure to get a 15 amp socket.
