10 Years of Impact: One World: Together at Home

In 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak devastated lives, livelihoods, and entire economies, pushing an additional 124 million people into extreme poverty.

Superstar Lady Gaga knew we needed action — and fast — so that’s why, in partnership with the World Health Organization, she joined Global Citizen to hold the international broadcast event, One World: Together At Home, announcing millions of dollars in funding to help WHO and 140+ local organizations protect the world's most vulnerable people from the pandemic. By taking action, Global Citizens provided essential services to people around the world, including La Casa de Don Pedro in New Jersey, which provides emergency rental assistance to families threatened by eviction.

Global Citizen Festival returns for its 10th anniversary edition on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from New York City’s Central Park, and and Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana to call on world leaders and major corporations to take urgent action for girls, for the planet, and to end extreme poverty NOW. Global Citizens have been working to eliminate extreme poverty for more than a decade, taking more than 30.4 million actions over 10 years to help change more than 1.15 billion lives and to celebrate 10 years of Global Citizen impact, we take a look at 5 Global Citizen and partner-led campaigns, ranging from education to healthcare, that demonstrate the power of one action. Global Citizen worked with partners, the World Health Organization (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Education Cannot Wait, the Global Partnership for Education, Save the Children Colombia, Yuva Unstoppable, Chris Martin of Coldplay, La Casa de Don Pedro, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and Agricultural Development IFAD Goodwill Ambassador and Global Citizen Advocate Sabrina Dhowre Elba to tell these incredible stories.
