China and the Philippines: Asia's next hot war? | DW News Desk

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. warns there's rising potential for outright conflict with China, just after another naval incident in the South China Sea. As the high-seas faceoff unfolded, two Chinese coast guard ships used water cannons against a smaller supply boat. It was the latest showdown in one of the world's most hotly disputed waters that many fear could descend into a larger conflict that puts the United States and China on a collision course. Tuesday's hostilities off the Philippine-occupied Second Thomas Shoal lasted about five hours starting after dawn. After China effectively seized another disputed atoll, the Scarborough Shoal off the northwestern Philippines, in 2012, Manila brought its disputes with Beijing to international arbitration and largely won. China, however, rejected the 2016 ruling of the U.N.-backed tribunal that invalidated its expansive claims on historical grounds and continues to defy the decision.

I live on the west coast of Palawan and operated a small fishing boat and then passenger boat for tourism from 2005 - 2014.
When I first started, the sea was so alive with big schools of fish, dolphin, turtles and sea birds.
I went out to the Spratlies a couple times for fishing, and I woke up at dawn to find hundreds of dolphins swimming every which way all around my tiny little boat feeding on schools of tuna.
It was the most amazing sight ever!
Shortly after that the Chinese moved in and from then on, the schools of fish and sea birds have all disappeared, and it looks like a dead sea.

The Philippines should stop giving government projects to Chinese contractors. The Philippines should also start decreasing reliance on China by slowly starting to find alternative trade partners for different products. When the Philippines don't rely on China for anything and when the Philippines stop giving money to the Chinese contractors, then the Philippines would have already won without a drop of blood. That is how you defeat China. China's economy is already in trouble and the normal Chinese citizen is already struggling including their pension system. If you stop relying on China and stop doing business with China, they will start collapsing from within.

Having a bad neighbor really sucks, peace-loving countries should cooperate with each other, or at least support each other, to fend off a domineering gangster.

LABAN PINAS!

Despite enduring numerous hardships, Filipinos are resilient, having been accustomed to such challenges. However, if China continues its bullying tactics, Filipinos will reach their breaking point, and China will face consequences despite its abundance. It's a warning: China should not underestimate the Filipinos' patience and goodwill, for if their rights are violated, there will be repercussions.

Filipinos are one of the kindest people I have never known. However, if you push them around, you would surely regret They fight and resist stubbornly.... Filipino soldiers are one of the best in combat as proven by history... Just remember the battles of Bataan and Corregidor.. The Battles of Yultong...
