Rise and Drop String Drill | Softball Pitcher Drills

Показать описание
A helpful softball pitching drill to concentrate on breaking pitches is the rise and drop string drill. This exercise can allow you to visualize how much your pitch either rises or falls as it crosses the plate. Tie a string five feet in front of the plate to serve as a marker for your pitches. Your string should be chest height when throwing riseballs and knee height for drop balls.
The objective is to have your pitches begin on one side of the string and break to the other as your catcher receives the pitch. For riseballs, your ball should start below the string and finish above. For drop balls, the opposite should occur. Find out more about this illustrative fastpitch drill with these softball Pro Tips.
