Heavy rains flood Dubai | ABS-CBN News

Unstable weather and heavy rain overtook parts of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday (April 16), flooding some streets and stalling traffic in Dubai.

Early on Monday (April 15), Dubai Police issued a public safety advisory alerting residents to the adverse weather conditions.

The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) stated that from Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning (April 17), another wave of unstable weather was expected to begin from Western areas and spread across scattered areas of the country.

At least 17 people were killed after flash floods swept through various parts of Oman on Sunday (April 14) and Monday (April 15), the country's National Committee for Emergency Management reported.

Rainfall continued across parts of the country with varying intensity. The current weather conditions are expected to last until Wednesday. - Report from Reuters

I've been back & forth to Dubai. The city is "Well" planned, however due to the rarity of encountering rain, especially heavy ones, they didn't put it in the plan. Some areas do have drainage systems, but I'd say around 60% of those areas don't.
