Roasting the vegetables makes such a significant difference. I've been loving my stews and jollof since I learnt of this hack.

I only found your channel last week and this is the first recipe I tried. My partner cannot stop praising me 🥺. I never thought I’ll be able to cook nice Nigerian food since I am a South African but you saved my life 😂. I’m ready to cook for my in-laws now😅. My rice was little bit smashy but not that much and I’m happy to see my partner enjoying the food I cooked 🤗. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for posting this on my birthday date 😂
Bcs am still in the village so today I said I will cook this jellof rice, I went to the market and was able to grab few items available bcs there's no bay leaf, no white pepper, no bell peppers and no paprika powder. I used firewood #localfire method to roast my own tomatoes, onion, garlic, fresh paprika, fresh peppers and believe you me it came out perfect like oven roast. I pound it in motta smooth and cooked my jellof rice and it's super delicious
I used carrots and cabbage and onion on my own. The rice was devoured by brother in-law, mother in-law and neighbors and we all enjoyed it
My happiness is that I achieved the roasting part with firewood and it came out so well with good aroma

Roasting the peppers gives the rice a better smoky taste and love to soak my rice in hot water instead of boiling. The stew base is so rich and the rice looks so good.

Thank you so very much for this simple yet eye opener method of preparing this party jollof. My name is Uju and am actually watching from my work place in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos Nigeria. Am actually a cook, but you just thought me a better way of preparing my party jollof. Thank you so very much. I can swear I perceived the aroma at some point. For what it's worth, your video is the first video I have downloaded with my mobile data and not the usual WiFi. Had to do so cos this is a keeper. Thanks so much...
