I’m African American and recently did a DNA test that said I’m mostly Nigerian. I’ve never had African food before and decided to start with jollof rice. I made this and the flavors blew my mind!!! It’s so delicious!!! Thank you and I can’t wait to try some of your other recipes.

Today the 21st/03/2023 I come here to appreciate you personally madam for teaching me how to make this delicious meal. The Bible says give honor to whom honor is due. I went step by step and my jellof came out exactly as this. I had a special guest dear to my heart (nigerian)I was making this meal for but he doesn't believe that it was my first cooking this meal. Thank you so much. I didn't think I could nail this but I did. Thank You Thank You. My family also loved every bit of this. ❤

I’m Mexican but My boyfriend is from Nigeria. In our household, it’s usually Mexican food but I made this a few weeks ago and it was absolutely delicious. He loved it! Even his friend and friends SO we’re surprised that I made it that good 🤣 definitely authentic! Thank you!!!! ❤️ bc Of you I’ll be able to cook this for my partner and child! That way my boy can also have a taste of his African culture ❤️

Here’s a tip for added smokiness… hot charcoals/woodchips in a small cup, put it on top of the food and cover it. This technique is used for Thai desserts (but we use dessert candles) and กุรุหม่า kuruma (basically Thai/Indian korma)

Also, you can add some fat to the charcoal so it smokes more. Like melted butter or oil

I’m a living testimony that your jollof recipes never fail. I tried the goat meat jollof rice and my fiancé didn’t want to eat any other food for almost a week. Thank you ❤️

I’m a Ghanaian, and if I weren’t such a patriot, I’d lay down my country’s claim to the Jollof rice title. This is the best Jollof rice recipe I HAVE come across. Thanks a million times for sharing it. Oh, how I wish I weren’t such a diehard patriot!

I made jollof for the first time this Christmas using this recipe, I wanted to make all Nigerian meals to celebrate this year and let me tell you guys.. this recipe is addictive. We finished a whole pot of rice in two days. I used my air fryer cause the oven was taking a long time overall this rice is a 10/10

This was really really helpful. I now know jollof rice is fried/steamed not boiled. My rice was not soggy but beautifully separated. Edit: y’all i have come back 8 months later to say that adding broth last instead of water…is a game changer! Ooo la la. Delicious rice every time!
