Using our homemade cue lights backstage

While researching ways to make my theatre more accessible to deaf and hard of hearing actors and technicians, I discovered CUE LIGHTS. We built our own cue lights by taping two push lights together (back to back) and taping one green and one yellow gel to each side. The stage manager holds the yellow light up (STANDBY cue) so that set wranglers can see and prepare. When the stage manager turns the light to the green side (the GO cue), set wranglers know to make the scene transition.
