It always struck me as odd that Gordon never recognizes Alfred’s voice as the “mysterious voice on the Batphone” despite meeting him numerous times. Also absolutely LOVE Return of the Caped Crusaders and Vs. Two Face

This iteration of Batman has always been a favorite of mine, as a kid who grew up with all the darker Batman stuff like the Nolan movies, Animated Series and Burton films. There was something really cool about seeing colorful lighthearted versions of characters I knew to be dark and serious

Fun fact: One of the writers of both Return Of The Caped Crusaders and Vs. Two Face is one of the two directors of the Mario movie.

The movie was in production before the TV show but the studio couldn't secure the helicopter leasing until after the first season aired.

Return of the Caped Crusaders is one of my favorite animated movies. It manages to both absolutely feel like it belongs in the 66 Batman universe, and it also dials the craziness up to 11 in every possible way.

Thanks. Grandparents, eh? I'll have you know I resemble that remark, young man! I grew up watching afternoon reruns of this show. Couldn't stand to miss it. I actually had a full Batman suit, complete with cowl & utility belt. The boots were really spats over my sneakers. How my Mom made all this happen is a story unto itself. I have this movie and I love it unconditionally. It and the series it was meant to kick off are a tongue-in-cheek send up. It knows what it is and it winks at us while pretending to take itself seriously. I understood that more as I got older, but never stopped loving it. tavi.

Fun fact: Dr. Quinzel becomes Harley Quinn in an after credit scene that is exclusive to the Blu-Ray version of the movie.

Batman 66 is just like the Harley Quinn Animated Series.

If taken as a Self Parody, both series are Glorious

Fun fact: Batman 66 is a parody played straight.

I loved the first Batman movie so much as a kid. I watched it so many times. I don't think I was even old enough to pick up on the issues.

Ironically, this isn't even the first big screen appearance of Batman and Robin. Many people forget the serials that came before this in 1943 and 1949.

I remember watching reruns on TV land also. One of my best friends growing up was Bert ward's grandson. He was actually the little kid Bryan on Seinfeld that was under George's desk.

The Navy sells older ships 4 scrap metal all the time. Maybe Penguin was convincing enough as humble merchant P. N. Guinn.

No mention of "Return to the Batcave"? You showed a short clip of it where Adam West and Burt Ward sit in the Batmobile, but I think it deserves a mention. It even had the villain actors return like the Riddler, not long before he died. And old Adam West doing the Batootsie, or what his dance was called ^^
