Haven’t felt an earthquake feel like this in a long while. Felt very strong for the size and went on pretty long too

I live just next to Hollywood in Los Feliz. I've been in L.A. for 40 years and this is the 2nd most violent quake I've felt after Northridge, though I still think it lasted no longer than 5-10 seconds. Northridge lasted longer. Highland Park is roughly no more than 5 miles from my front door as the crow flies. I was very surprised to see the magnitude being as low as it was. I guess it is the difference between living 1-2 hours away from the epicenter and living within 5 miles of it.

I was in my car at stop light, in San Pedro. Car was swaying left to right. I felt it very well.

This was a small earthquake compared to Northridge and Sylmar. Born and raised here I've felt many in my 61 years.

I still live in the Inland empire, I've experienced huge quakes, Landers, Joshua Tree, Upland, Northridge, etc. One happened just 1 mile from location (Upland) and I REALLY felt that. Also the San Andreas is not too far from where I live though I will say my house has solid soil and foundation because we rare feel any hard shaking here.
