The U.S. Has 750 Overseas Military Bases, and Continues to Build More to Encircle China

The United States struck a deal with the Philippines earlier this month to expand its military presence in its former colony to four additional bases, part of a years-long Pentagon buildup in the Asia-Pacific region meant to counter Chinese influence. The U.S. has about 750 overseas military bases in more than 80 countries, and Washington elites are pushing the country ever closer to conflict with China, says researcher David Vine. “I think the people of the United States absolutely do not want war,” says Vine. He is a professor of anthropology at American University and co-founder of the Overseas Base Realignment and Closure Coalition.

Only the US can build military bases in other countries. There is budget to improve the lives of the American people, but US almost always chose War.

We have cities with tens of thousands of homeless people and millions without health insurance, but we have billions to invest in foreign resentment and mistrust giving countries like Russia excuses to invade countries like Ukraine. The US is often cited as one of the countries that would be the hardest to invade and easiest to defend so investments like this portray the US as nothing less than an aggressive war mongering statethat has been at war most of the last 50 years killing and destroying countless lives far from its boarders. This is insane. Americans need to join the peace loving people of the world and say enough is enough

When you have too many overseas bases, your army gets weaker, not stronger because those bases will be poorly defended in times of war and very expensive to maintain in times of peace.

I find it interesting that this professor stated China was not a threat, but Soviet Union was and later stated that China was a threat to its neighbors without elaborating either point with evidence/examples. Yet he provided plenty of evidence/examples detailing how the U.S. is the greatest threat to world peace at this time.

Hello, China is not a threat to the neighbours. China has only 1 base in DJibouti. There is no, except a few man-made islands in the South China Sea specifically to defend against the US aggression and not against any countries in the region, except a few countries which pawn themselves to the US. "The United States of War" will pick up! We saw this insanity since southeast Asia's fiasco!! Wars make money as my great uncle expressed..
We totally understand the warmongers/control freaks this country has become.. my whole lifetime has been of this country's friction with other cultures!!
