I use the bounce card from the AK-R1 magnetic accessory kit with my V1. I sold my two 860ii and bought two V1 and am happy with that decision. As a longtime pro, I prefer the better control interface, faster recycling, modeling light and accessories of the V1. I have even just used the V1 modeling light as fill in some shots. I could never do that with the 860ii, never. Cheers

if i want to do macro photography at 1x or 2x magnification (Laowa 100mm 2.8 macro - manual), which one would you recommend me to use, the v350 or the V1? Also, if i wanted to use a flash for travel photography (in general scenarios) which one would be better?

The V1 has better recycle time and more flashes before you have to trade batteries. It also has the round head mods, but those are available for the sqaure had flashes to with a 6 dollar adapter. You can eliminate the V1 advantage with a battery pack and makes the TT685ii less than a second recycle time and make it last double to triple the number of flashes depending on which battery pack you get. But the battery pack adds more weight and costs from 35 to 130 dollars. The power outputr is exactly the same between the two 76 watt seconds but the GN number is better for the TT685ii because of the greater amount of zoom in the head . Difficult decision. The cheap one is better because of price but if you try to make it better than the V1, it will cost you more money. If you are going to buy several flashes, the TT685ii is the way to go. But some pros need the V1 for better recycle time. But you have to buy those expensive batteries.

I put off the V1 for years but couldn’t put it off no more. The round head light fall off and the modeling light are just too great of uses. The built in reflector of the rectangular flash is a minor nuisance in comparison.

I have both and the round head is a joke. The V860iii is hands down the best flash you can get for the money

hello! I need some Help please. Im a street photographer. I will invest in a study for gastronomic photography. I have a 20x90cm, 80x100cm and a 120cm octabox softbox. I want to buy 2 speelights. Will I be able to fill these softboxes well with the godox V860II? or should I buy a V1? I think because the GN of the V1 is more than V860ii it gonna work better, but i read many photographers sugest do not buy V1 for use it with modifiers...
I have a budget, but I want to make smart use of it and not overspend if I don't have to.

Great, to the point video! My thing is that I shot an event in low light with my Nikon Z7 and was unable to focus on people posting for me because it was too dark for the body to find focus. I learned that with mirrorless (Nikon and Canon at least), that the infrared laser CANNOT be picked up from a speedlite to help assist focus.

This is why the V1 has my interest because of its modeling light to help assist my camera to find focus. I'm not sure if it'll blind the people I'm shooting but on the other hand, if regular people use their smart phones with flash, that's pretty blinding too lol!

This was long winded but does the IR assist beam on either flash work with your Sony? If not, your camera body is already way better than my Z7 at finding focus in low light :)
