Fix Onn Roku TV Randomly Turning Off by Itself (Onn. Keeps Shutting Down On Its Own Playing Video)

If your ONN Roku TV is turning off by itself, there are several potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Power source: Ensure that the TV is connected to a stable power source. Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the TV and the power outlet. Consider using a different power outlet or power strip to rule out any issues with the current power source.

Remote control: Check if the remote control is causing the TV to turn off inadvertently. Remove any objects that might be obstructing the signal between the remote and the TV. Replace the batteries in the remote control to ensure they are not depleted or malfunctioning.

Sleep or power-saving settings: Verify the sleep or power-saving settings on your ONN Roku TV. Press the Home button on your remote control, navigate to Settings, select System, and then go to Power. Make sure the sleep timer is set to a suitable duration or disabled. Additionally, disable any power-saving features that may be turning off the TV automatically.

Software update: Ensure that your ONN Roku TV is running the latest software version. To check for updates, press the Home button on your remote control, go to Settings, select System, and then choose System update. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your TV if an update is available.

Factory reset: If the issue persists, you can try performing a factory reset on your ONN Roku TV. Please note that a factory reset will erase all your settings and personal preferences. To initiate a factory reset, press the Home button on your remote control, navigate to Settings, select System, and then choose Advanced system settings. From there, select Factory reset and follow the prompts to reset your TV.

If none of these steps resolve the problem and your ONN Roku TV continues to turn off by itself, it may indicate a hardware issue. In such cases, it's recommended to contact ONN or Roku customer support for further assistance or consider consulting a professional technician.

How the hell did your Roku even stay on during that time? Mine cuts off at random points even if I get to system, you obviously don’t have the problem we do

If my TV stayed on long enough to do that, I wouldn't be watching your video

You nailed it, this fixed mine but 1 more issue. How do I get the tv "voice" That says "main menu", when I come across an ad on YouTube says "live stream, skip in 5 seconds." Etc etc. Have you had that happen too ?

I've done everything you've suggested. Unless you can think of anything else, I guess I'm just SOL. 😢

Here is how to ACTUALLY fix it:

1. Next to the HDMI port on your Onn. device, you will see a little button. Long press it for 15 - 20 seconds (if your tv turns off by it self, press it a few seconds after your TV turns off.)
2. You will see a menu that you can navegate by pressing the button once.
Go to the option "Factory reset/wipe data" (or something like that)
4. Long press on the wipe data/factory reset option and wait until the process is done.
4. After the process is done, navegate with the button again to the "Reboot" option and long press it.

mine seems to be caused by the remote. If I use the Roku app on my phone as a remote it does not turn off. If I use the remote it turns itself off.

These roku tvs are crap. What kind of tv randomly shuts off anyway? I can't even complete the factory reset because the tv shuts off before I can set up the wifi. So it's now stuck at the set up menu.
Also i wouldn't be surprised to find out roku intentionally makes their TVs do this at some point in their lifespan to force you to buy another one. If that's true the joke is on roku, I got this tv as a gift and i already got a better replacement.
