I think you should go to one of those mystery box places, buy all of the boxes and calculate the value, than you would know if it's a scam.

If you go to a store, you should expect stockx pricing, bc when those same stores buy, the base prices off of stockx last sale, and subtract $10-20 off the rip.

If you looked at the store's IG they are the "grand prize" style boxes where most are around or under the value of what they paid but a handful are worth quite a bit more

I strongly disagree. How would a company stay in business at all if they’re selling mystery boxes at equal or greater value. It’s a mystery box for a reason. It’s a gamble. I’m not debating the ethics of it, but they wouldn’t exist if everyone was losing money.

I don't know why people assumed mystery boxes are always supposed to have more value than the price paid for said mystery box. In any other outlet a mystery box can be nothing or something amazing, but not always greater than price paid for the box. I can understand if a specific seller makes promises to the buyers that their boxes will guarantee a return of greater value than the cost of the mystery box, but in general the mystery box seller needs to make money, so as long as some people get a great return and others get close to the value, then why call it a scam? If you're worried about it then maybe stop gambling on mystery boxes lol it's stupid anyways.
