I’m so glad even at this age, Jonathan looks like a very healthy tortoise. I’m glad he’s in good capable hands and lives in a safe environment. He apparently loves affection too judging by how that man was petting his neck.

This beautiful creature hatched only 11 years after Napoleon died on the same island. Napoleon was exiled here after his final defeat. This was his second exile. The first was to Elba. He finally succumbed on May 05th, 1821.
