Behind the tower of Karazhan lies one of the Azeroth's most iconic inaccessible areas. The Forgotten Crypt (or as players have come to call it, the Karazhan Crypt) holds some unique scenery, all of which shares a very dark theme - one that has led to massive speculation among the playerbase...

In the crypt there is a pit that you can fall down in. The fun fact about it is that if you simple walk and fall down it you will survive the fall. If you jump in the hole the additional height will cause you to take additional fall damage and actually kill you! This must be done by design.

Great vid! I love your work. :) I think the Scarlet Monastery might be the raid added in Phase 3 (upscaled to level 50) and Karazhan Crypts will be Phase 4... maybe introducing us to storylines that will be put into use in a Classic-style Karazhan later on!

Think a lot the spookiness/disturbing vibes of the place come from how the place is hidden, unused and not really meant to be accessed. 👻 There's some outright gore in WoW that's not as scary. One pretty disturbing quest I remember in the Cataclysm version of Hillsbrad Foothills has you bashing a plantation of buried screaming humans in their heads so hard with a shovel that they explode in chunks.

Edit: fun fact: this quest is censored in China apparently

Turtle WoW has the Karazhan Crypt (5man dungeon), the hardest 5man dungeon with the loot to back it up.
Turtle WoW also has Karazhan Lower Halls (10man raid) which is a tier 1 level raid.
Soon, it'll have Karazhan Upper Halls (40man raid) it is rumored to be tier 3.5 so very hard with the best loot in the game.
We already know there will be a legendary staff for mage, locks, priest or druid.

Turtle WoW went ahead and made Karazhan Crypts a high level dungeon (and Karazhan itself a 10 man Classic raid). Thanks for reminding me I need to get my hunter out there!

I haven't played SOD yet but tine inclusion of this iconic dungeon would absolutely get me to try it.

A lvl 60 raid crypts along with kahrazan, how epic that would be

I feel like the issue with the Kara Crypts is that it's TOO creepy/dark for WoW. Not in a disturbing way, but in a 'Did we REALLY need this/Does this REALLY fit?' manner. Just like the old Kara model, it was out of place.

So odd thing right. When you watch a youtube video, it tries to tell you if you've watched the whole thing with a red progress bar at the bottom of a thumbnail. I don't watch any of your older videos because your thumbnail is also red. And I have no idea what videos I have and haven't watched of yours before. Who knows if I have watched a video from 3 months ago, I may have. So I won't click on it to see. So that's a thing.
