Today I discuss the typical audience of a review because it's not quite what you might expect.

I watch reviews because I'm a tech enthusiast and it's fun. But the thing is, I barely buy any of the products I watch on YouTube.

We need to be smarter as viewers. If you watch the same reviewer often, you should know their biases and be able to weigh that against your own biases. People like different things 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think there's also a third set of viewers, albeit very small, niche even (sados like me) That watch purely for the entertainment factor. A lot of reviews I watch out of pure interest for the device in question, or to see what that specific reviewer thinks of it. The Galaxy fold jumps to mind, no intention of buying it but damn it's an interesting piece of tech!

I watch tech videos because I am a tech nerd and I find it entertaining to see all the products. Lol I think alot of people have no intention of buying everything that they watch in these videos.

Nice video. Want to add as a not very relevant sidenote that negative reviews are often more entertaining like Marques' 'poor use of space' rant on a HTC phone. I guess if you want views you can lambast a garbage product

Anyone have any issues with cases? My tech 21 case makes my mate 20 Pro takes screen shots on its own and sometimes when I put the volume down it goes up instead.

It's the same when people ask for "advice" had a friend to look at a pc they wanted to build yesterday. I suggested they went for a different spec at a lower price and they said they wanted what they had already picked. Why bother asking for advice if you only want it only to validate yourself.

Well that's one of the reasons why I'm following you regardless of your fan base.. you're honest in your reviews and you give long time reviews.
Something that's not found in big YouTube channels. And thanks god you have thought of this topic, and not got distracted by the dislikes.

Very good topic. One which can be debated upon for days. This can be for the most part can be for any electronic device but with phones, they should be reviewed for the group (budget, mid and high end) that the phone belongs in. Too many reviewers do not ask if the device is geared to a certain group or who this device is for. Others try to compare a device outside its group and others just flat out don't even try to hid their bias and say phone x is nice but you should buy phone z, even though the viewer doesn't fit in phone z's group. A simple review should showcase the device, its features and the reviewer will let the viewer decide whether the phone is good enough for their needs or overkill. In a comparison review, the device is then put through a more thorough analysis and the reviewer, show examples of each and still lets the viewer decide which is better for them. As for downvotes, I find them useless, since most don't post the reason why they down voted a post or review. If the viewer does not like a certain point being made or feature, then they should post what they like or don't like.

It’s honestly just for entertainment the last time I actually bought a phone because of a review was the LG G2 years ago. Flossy is my fave reviewer haha!
