The death of Carole Lombard was one of the most publically felt losses of an individual in the U.S.A. during WWII. My parents mentioned it many times over the years.

Beautiful inside and out. Her death was a true tragedy and left Clark Gable damaged for years. Gone too soon.

Carole Lombard probably would have many more screen triumphs had she lived.

What a woman! The thing about these movies is not only the images, BUT THE DIALOGUE AS WELL. They are cleverly written and contain so much innuendo. Not like today.

Carole Lombard was way way WAY before my time, but I love her movies, especially "My Man Godfrey". Reading up on her history, her loss at such a young age, along with her mom and about 20 other people on that ill-fated flight, was such a tragic loss.

The great Carole Lombard was truly one of the iconic female stars of Hollywood's greatest decade, the 1930s. She died tragically in early 1942 following a War Bond drive to help America win WW2. Movie stars were a lot different 80 years ago.

One can see why Clark Gable fell for her, and why he was so devastated after she died in that plane crash while promoting War Bonds. Lovely, fine figure, good actor, had that special attitude.

She was a doll all right. Her death was so sad. Almost nothing left of her after the plane crash that took her life.

The bit where the lobster gets her pants is adorable - she's like a live-action Betty Boop.

Can't believe it took Gable a few years after making "No Man of Her Own" to fall in love with Lombard.

I love how you always add an undressing montage! An absolute necessity for every pre-code film is at least one undressing scene.
You wouldn't happen to have a scene with Mr. Jimmy Cagney undressing, would you...? ( ՞ټ՞ )

Carole's voice matched her beauty.
