This is a short list of the threads and inspirations that have been influencing my work lately. Some lurk just beneath the surface, waiting for the right opportunity, the right site or the right client, while others are more thematic and make appearances again and again.

This reminds me so much of the book “The Inspired Home”. The book is broken up into five parts, Authenticity, Simplicity, Balance, Surprise, and Grandeur. A lot of what you talked about is expounded upon in different sections accompanied by photos and interviews with owners and designers.Anytime I start a new project I reread that book so it’s principles are at the forefront of my mind.

I love your work. Your narration and experience are inspiring. Due to circumstance I've found myself in the military. Not a bad profession. I'm paid well here, and I have a family to take care of. I'm thanking you for providing inspiration for what I could be doing after the military. Even if by circumstance watching your work was a motivational outlook on life and perspective. For life as far as I've been concerned has been a strange and fickle mistress. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you.

Changeable, when I was a child I often liked to change everything around in my room late at night including bed and all the furnishings to suit my current whims of the time. I do also love the traditional Japanese design though I do wonder how those thin paper and wood walls would keep enough heat inside in the winter months and come to think of it I don't remember ever seeing a heating source in those traditional houses?

Water, can also be used for power/electricity if you have great enough flow in the form of Microhydro.
