This song was originally was to be named Dune but the author of Dune, Frank Herbert, didn't allow it. He died a few years later in 1986.
Last song on my favorite Iron Maiden album.

Another masterpiece from Steve Harris.

Dude! Steve Harris on bass is the heart of early Maiden. Primary songwriter and you can hear it how he carries the whole song. Doesn't matter which song it is. The sound of Metal originated when Steve Harris heard Geezer Butler.

I find it comical that you went from 'Empire of the clouds' to 'To tame a land' and this was your response. Two diametric songs that were written almost 40 years apart. You basically have three types of maiden fans; old school fans (to tame a land era) that hate new Maiden, New fans (Brave new world and on) that don't get early Maiden, especially the Di'anno years, and then you have my group, the group that grew up old school but never grew out of Maiden (even through those dark trying years).
As for this song, if I was to say that you listened to it incorrectly, I would sound pretty foolish. But if I was to express that thought, it would be like; you looked as if you were continuously waiting for something to happen next. Allot of times, Iron Maiden is a sit back, close your eyes and fade into the soundscape type of band. Tool is another band that has embraced that style of song writing.
And if you hadn't picked up on it yet from the comment section, the lyrical story of this song is about the book of "Dune", which was then turned into a movie. The story and the musical vibe of this song are more understood and appreciated if you are already familiar with, and a fan of the book.
Looking forward to your next vid.

I know a lot of Maiden fans love Piece of Mind but for me I’ve always been a bit underwhelmed. Personally I think the songs are good, Where Eagles Dare is phenomenal, Icarus is great, Trooper has stood the test of time even if it’s a bit overplayed sometimes lol…. But I think the production on the album as a whole is the let down. Compare this to say Somewhere in Time and the difference in quality is crazy, more so when you think there’s only between 2 and 3 years difference in the writing and recording of those albums. Piece of Mind is probably my least listened to album along with X Factor and Virtual XI. No I’m not a post 2000 fan only either, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son are still my top 2 albums they’ve given us for me.
