Pretty helpful. I'm doing a cheap man's m4 clone. All I can afford. 16 inch Barrell for a few reasons. I can't find a 14.5 right now in my price range, don't want to deal with pinning welding a muzzle device or go through atf and I think 16 inch gives the 5.56 a little more boost in performance.
I got a quad rail coming and broomstick forward grip. Gonna keep the waffle stock. Eventually I'm gonna get an eotech with magnifier but until I can afford it I'm just gonna go with the tried and true carry handle.

I am heavy into military clone AR's and I still enjoyed the video. Ill be putting a few videos of some of my recent SOCOM and Colt m4 clones that I just completed, minus the optics.

Ex Army here, not a criticism, but just fwi for the m68 cco the standard for us was to line up the front of the mount with the vertical line on the upper where the cam pin track is. To my eyes it just looks a little funny with the red dot shoved forward like that. If it is personal preference rock on. Atleast when I was in we were issued tan peq-15's and a tan surefire m952. Matech sight would be pushed as far back as possible. After I got out I got nostalgic for my issued rifle so I ended up getting a clone for myself. Unfortunately my issued rifle was a colt m4 converted to m4a1 so it was really unique with the burst engraving and m4 carbine X'd out with the new designations engraved in and that's not a feature that I would be able to find and replicating it, while cool, would be too much of a hassle. Great video though!

Great video I started out buying a Colt M4A1 (2013) KAC RIS Block I configuration it’s nice but has the 16” heavy barrel.. today it’s hard to find this configuration Colt also made one w/a Daniel Defense RIS II the lower are roll marked M4A1 non US PROPERTY ..

Nice work bro that looks great! Griffin Armament M4SD and M4SD-K suppressors attach to standard A2 flash hiders...not clone correct cans but since all my 14.5's have pinned and welded birdcages its pretty much the only option outside of Gemtech

My 2018 Colt SOCOM has the C marked keyhole mark. My stock is cage code marked, bolt carrier is c marked, barrel is SOCOM cage code. Mine is still new in the box. I have a 2017 M4A1 marked SOCOM also. I bought a SOCOM upper from Sharks and put it on a older 6920 lower. I decked it out and shoot it a lot. The Knights rails are get even more expensive. I bought a knights MK 12 rail 6-7 years ago for a good deal and just built a mk12 around it. Found another rail for a good deal about a year later and bought it. The MK 12 rails have gotten very expensive!

What would the pros snd cons be of putting the hand guard / heat shields on the sides or keeping them off? Weight, i suppose, it can trap heat, but perhaps also protects from dirt and rain, just wondered what you think the pros and cons are
