What is IUD?
An intra-uterine device, also called IUD is a plastic, T-shaped device inserted into the uterus to avoid pregnancy.

Copper IUD
Copper based IUD makes the uterine environment unwelcoming for the sperm as well as weakens it. Copper primarily acts as a spermicide, thus preventing pregnancy.

IUD should be inserted by a healthcare provider. The appointment is short and the actual procedure of insertion lasts only minutes.

CONS OF IUD

IUDs can only be inserted by a licensed medical professional.
IUDs may cause ectopic pregnancy, which means pregnancy in areas other that the uterus. This happens in rare cases only.
