Remember kids, your parents are always home.

One thing I learned as a young kid, never say that your parents aren’t home.

“Hi, are your parents home?”

“Yeah, my dad is just in front of the door at his desk cleaning his glock, anything you need?”

Now what have we learned kids?
1. You're parents are always home, even if you don't live there.
2. Never willingly walk up to a stranger, even if they seem friendly; they are still an unknown person in your presence
3. Be smarter than this, even if you're a dumb teen! Think one step ahead always!

There is always someone home with you, even when there isn't.

There was a time my older cousin who was around 18 yrs old at the time was on a walk with me and my little cousin. I was 10 and my little cousin was 6 years old, so you can imagine the responsibility that she had put onto herself to keep us safe. While walking a man approached us and asked me if I wanted to see some puppies he had in his van that his dog recently gave birth to. I was going to agree because I was dumb and loved animals. But my cousin said " *No* ." In a firm voice and pulled us away from him, quickly taking us home. She then told me to never go with a stranger even if they seem nice if I'm ever alone. I'm very grateful for her doing what she did. He looked sketchy but the the urge to see cute puppies made me overlook it smh.

This is why I'd always lie and say I have someone near me

Her biggest mistake was saying there was no one there

Look at how he seems like such a normal, nice person in the beginning. That's why we should also suspect the unsuspicious and be on guard with strangers. Stay safe everyone 💙

“Are your parents home?”
“Yeah let me go get her, she’s just cleaning the shotgun”

REMINDER: if anyone you aren’t close to asks if your parents are home, the answer is always yes. They are waiting for you to get home, maybe they’re calling you as you speak to the person. NEVER tell anyone your parents aren’t home, it will greatly increase the chances you’re going to get kidnapped.

Repeat after me, kids. “She called me just now. She’ll be home any second”

This movie is based on real story, the girl’s name is Kara Robinson (at the time 15yo). Her kidnapper (Richard Evonitz) turned out to be a serial killer who murdered 3 other girls. The movie is amazing, the main actress is great. The story is so emotional and well portrayed: Kara’s emotions, her smartness while being held hostage, the impact on her family, the role of the officers to support Kara through everything etc. Worth watching. The title is The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story.

you can also find videos of Kara talking about her story on Youtube, she did a documentary about her case and an interview on Anthony Padilla called “I Spent a Day With Kidnapping Survivors”

edit: I watched the movie on Youtube
