I guess the writers has some consistency issues or they wanted to make the humans win in some way.

How can the Psychlos beat the humans in 9 minutes and take over for many years, while the movie presents them as unintelligent?

Otherwise, if the aliens were actually smart, they would easily outsmart the humans and the movie would end there

There is no way this would be the end and earth would be safe. If the John Travolta species were dominating worlds for 100, 000 years then that means there’s got to be billions of Johns throughout the universe. meaning once they’d hear about their planet they’d most definitely come for revenge. Earth would get another ass whooping.

I had such high hopes for this movie...I actually like the original book and had hoped that because Travolta was such a devout follower of Hubbard's more...esoteric teachings that, when it was announced he would be heading the movie project I thought he would do it right. HOWEVER, I was sorely disappointed in the movie as they changed so many of the salient plot points that I just couldn't enjoy it. Travolta really dropped the ball on this one
