I love how google can't "turn off the lights in the master bedroom", but it CAN "turn off master bedroom lights"

The problem I encounter fairly frequently is after asking it to do something like turn off light, the Google mini will say "Hmmm something went wrong, try again in a few seconds" Sometimes a few seconds is all it takes, but other times it can take up to an hour or longer. This problem is not specific to one particular mini. I have five in the system and all have exhibited this issue. Strangly my Google home hasn't had this problem. Any thoughts.

Changing Wi-Fi channels and Wi-Fi channel options from router, have solved numerous connection issues I had with many smart home devices. (but never a problem with G homes) Great advice Thanks

My Google minis stopped working after updates by Google late last fall. I fixed them with a 12 gauge and then switching to Amazon devices with a Smartthings hub. Amazon devices are very reliable and haven't had any issues other then Feit bulbs from Costco every once in a while. Google didn't get along with my wemo plugs very well and they have worked perfectly with smartthings.

We've been experiencing all kinds of issues as well.

-Confirming it's playing Spotify but then not playing anything or even the wrong thing
-Often saying it's disconnected from wifi (Tested on multiple stable networks where there are no further issues with any other device)
-Often saying "There has been a technical issue" when asked any command
-Routines not loading in the Google Home App (iPhone 11 on IOS14)
-Not telling the news when a routine is activated that includes reading the news(Routine is set on other android device)
-When activated with "Hey Google" or "Ok Google" and saying your command it often keeps listening for almost a minute after no longer talking
-Randomly started telling the weather in Fahrenheit (Fixed this by asking it to set all temperatures to Celsius)
-When it does succeed at playing the correct playlist in Spotify, it would randomly stop after the first song, a couple songs in or hours later

So not only does the Nest Mini do all these kinds of weird things but the Google Home app also seems to be acting strange. It's frustrating that the routines page does not load. It's an infinite loading animation. We've reinstalled the Google Home app already but it did not fix anything. There are instances where it would work an hour or two without issues except for the routines not loading in the Google Home App and not telling the news when a routine is activated. But more often than not the Nest Mini did not work correctly with all the issues mentioned above.
We've been thinking of replacing the device since we still have return rights. We have tried to reset it and are still currently testing to see if it worked but Spotify still does not want to play. We've unlinked and linked the account and also cleared cache in Spotify itself.

I TOTALLY agree with getting Mesh. Most things worked but some were flakey until I upgraded. I do have a funny situation with my Google Hub, I will tell it to turn off plug 5, it does it and then says, I can't help you with that, but my team is helping me to learn. It does this most of the time, but not always. I can afford to have both Alexa & Google. It amazes/puzzles me but sometimes one won't know something so I ask the other and usually it will know the answer.

Hey friend, can you take the frustration out of this? I thought you were going to answer it in this video but you didn't. Why the *Cast To* list from Google Chromecast devices don't show up sometimes. I can see other options on the list like my Samsung 4K TV without a Chromecast, my Blu-ray players, my TV's with Roku, but sometimes I don't see my TV's with the Chromecast external or built-in on the dropdown *Cast To* list. For example, I have two TV's with Roku and Chromecast connected externally. But, when I want to Cast to my Chromecast, I only see the Roku's on the Cast to list. Not the Chromecast. My Google Nest Hub Max has Chromecast built-in, so does a Vizio TV and a Vizio soundbar all has Chromecast built-in. Yet, when this happens, I don't see none of these devices on the Cast to list. Now this only happens sometimes, not all the time but, it happens a lot. But the devices without Chromecast *ALWAYS* show up on the Cast to list. I have everything on the same Wifi and I have the original Google Wifi Mesh system. My internet is very strong, I have GB internet. It use to work when I say, *Sync all devices, * but that don't get it to work no more. Now I just have to wait for the Chromecast devices to appear on the Cast To list, what sometimes take forever. Do you have any answers?

Appreciate this rundown, it shows that even the higher end smart home people have issues and it's good that you share those experiences.

Hi Brian! I have a question about an issue I am facing with my google home mini. Whenever I connect my home mini with another device using Bluetooth, it disconnects after a while on its own. I tried rebooting and even resetting, but it didn’t help. Did you face this problem with any of your home devices? Do you know anything that might help me?

Both of my google homes are not responding to "hey google " unless i am right in front of the speaker and literally YELLING. Sometimes it will work, if i turn off the speaker, then back on. Once it DOES respond...it CAN hear what im asking. Very frustrating! Great video by the way !

so i’ve had my google home for a little over a year, with no problems. but now, it’s suddenly not working. it won’t connect to the app or do anything. i’ve unplugged, factory reset, and done just about everything i can think of to try and get it to work. i’ve tried setting it up as a different speaker and am able to get all the way through the process, but when the app tells me to test it by asking a question, the second i say hey google it says “your google home isn’t set up yet” even though i just went through the process of setting it up. i even tried using a completely different google home all together and was able to set it up, but once i moved it into my room it started doing the same thing and now neither will connect. i don’t know what to do. i recently installed strip led lights in my room but i’ve had them for a week or so and the google was fine, it only just started acting up yesterday and today so i don’t think it’s the lights.
