History a levels also requires a lot of application like your "hard sciences". We dont just memorize but try to understand history by finding patterns in the events, analyzing the similarities and dissimilarities of things that took place and linking it with its consequences or causes. If you think a level history is just vomiting stuff u memorized, then you are studying it in the wrong way.
