This is a video that will help you on how to do well in American propeller planes. In this video, you will be learning most of the beginner level things that will see you doing better in air combat in war thunder. Some of these include climbing to the side, going head-on, when you should turn to fight, manipulating your energy, and more. These tips are pretty basic and do not require much time to learn, but they are a great way to get started on the aerial side of war thunder. However, the planes that belong to the United States of America do take lots of time to master. If you want to see more advanced stuff, let me know!

This Video should be mandatory for all air RB players. Well put!

3. Engage the target
4. Realising your team has been wiped out
5. Gets chased into your base by 4 enemies
6. Some airifield AA managed to kill your chaser as your plane caught on fire and fall into the ground

All excellent points. I think an even bigger problem than the planes, its the teams. Usually, (at the battle ratings you just used as an example) the teams are made up of way too many bombers. I have been in games where I am literally the only fighter! Also, teams will not side climb and will "Leeeroy Jenkins" in and by the time you get to a decent alt, you are the only one left and the spotting system suddenly shows you the 6 guys that eliminated your team are right on top of you. That is about when I leave to play ground RB...

The definite exception to this hit and run bunch is the P-36 family. The P-36 can out turn just about anything it wants to (with landing flaps extended it's crazy) and it actually sucks at hit and run due to the insane aileron lock up at just a little over 300 kph. The lock up is omitted at high altitude where the air is thinner however.

As soon as I finish sideclimbing both team have lost 97% of their aircrafts. Thus leaving me with no targets and I finish the game with 1 assist and somehow 2 deaths

I've been playing American planes for a while now. I'm at 4.0 and I have both mustangs and the p47 razorback. I'm only a rank 19 player so I'm pretty new and I found myself really enjoying these aircraft. The large amount of firepower the Americans bring is something I really enjoy even if most American aircraft control like shit.

A-36 is excellent for head on and turn fighting. it is a p51 with a better engine and air brakes, 2 nose mounted and 4 wing mounted 60 cams allow for great coverage on head one and its relatively accurate if you know how to aim and can take a lot of hits depending on the enemies caliber of weapon that hits you

Great points. I would add learning energy maneuvers like basic yoyo's and how to use a weave with a teammate while flying in loose pairs. Baiting lower opponents up, then dragging them across your friends nose while you "Thatch Weave" in front of your better is key. While I like the La5's best for this, American planes are perfect for this also.

I think something not covered here is that most Axis planes have an advantage in SUSTAINED turn performance. This makes the planes much more forgiving to fly since missing the first guns opportunity gives you multiple chances to viably reengage. If you maintain a max performance turn, you will slowly gain an advantage over US fighters just due to the plane's inherent performance.

With American planes, you have an INSTANTANEOUS turn advantage, which means if you don't get the win in the first 1 or 2 passes, your options are to bug out and reset or steadily lose any energy/position advantage you had. Not many beginners can pull off that kind of gunnery snapshot easily.

IRL, this is why John Boyd was so interested in a high specific excess power for fighters in his E-M theory, since this was THE way to generate an enormous sustained turn advantage.

Very underrated good quality content, it helped me very much!

Great advice, but doesn't make much difference when your entire team is pretty much wiped by the time you hit a good altitude and then it's you vs. 7+ enemy planes.

So basically if any other nation follows this guide, America still stands no chance.

Super indepth for a 4min vid. Gave a lot of tips that most other vids don’t include. One thing i would add which you did indirectly mention, is that atleast with the mustangs, they turn better at higher speeds. You mentioned that, just indirectly (3.10)
Primo vid 🤙

So American planes are just boom & zoom. Nothing else. And if enemy sees you before you shoot at him you're dead.
Yes.
That's a peak of gameplay.
Sideclimb just to be dead.

Ahhh! Finally someone I can understand! So many WT fighter instructional videos that I’ve seen are done by foreigners who, while speaking in English, are very hard to understand!
