I don't cry at movies but this scene made me cry like a baby. The bond between Sophie and Donna reminds me of my mom and I who I saw the movie with. Neither of us had dry eyes. Such a beautiful song.

I was in tears when I first saw this. It was truly the best moment in the movie and most touching. And everytime I hear it, I am in tears. Only ABBA could rewrite an already emotional song and make it even more emotional. Beautiful lyrics... beautiful rendition ... beautiful composition. A heartbreaking song suddenly transformed to an eternal love song between mother and child.

I took my wife to see this film for our wedding anniversary ( i wanted to see the new mission impossible movie) but i wanted to please my wife, i am so glad i did i really enjoyed this film and cried my eyes out it was so lovely, this song really pulled at my heart strings . I’m a fan of ABBA so I was already looking fwd to this film. Then this ending came. My mother passed away 6 days after I turned 8. I had to live life without her, then I became a mother and my first child was a girl, my only girl ( I also have 2 little boys). I named my daughter after my mother. This whole mother/daughter dynamic is new for me. She’s going to be 11 soon and puberty is starting to show it’s crazy face lol All these things I’m doing with her I never got to do with my mama. So when this unexpected scene came up, I was left with tears streaming down my face. How utterly serene and beautiful. Made me think of her and of my daughter. To be loved so fully by one woman and to love fully another (future woman). It’s amazing.
