Its an visual bug the rewards you get are the stuff you obtained before doing the hologram if you farm a flower and do it afterwards you will see the flower as the reward

so only a few secs spent landing hits and dodging enemy attacks. Only a window of a few seconds for something to go wrong, so pretty low chance of actually messing up.
