I do not recommend you start them yourself without proper practice.. these comments are misguided. Yes the initial price is expensive. But you will save money in the long run in upkeep. I get my hair maintenance every 3 to 6months.The purpose of wicks are mainly the desire of not having to maintain/upkeep as frequent as regular locs .. there are many other benefits to wicks. In my experience wicks have given me back my ability to sleep threw the night without accidentally laying on my hair during the right and waking with an extremely lethal Neck ache. A simple (up-do) makes all the difference with wicks giving you that iconic palm tree 🌴 look or helping you sleep through the night or a quick stylish look. I love my wicks
