Forest, you are an excellent teacher. I learn so much from your videos, every time. Thanks!

I still struggle with eye level shooting...which rolls into not working a composition enough... It usually happens when I'm getting tired but I'll compose a shot I think I like, take a few/several images changing settings and angles only to get home and realize I didn't see a branch or twig or something that is distracting and if I had paid close enough attention to reviewing on site I could have moved one direction or another to clean it up. I'm at that point in my journey that I've realized 99% of the time a image that didn't turn out is a learning opportunity for myself rather than a problem with the gear.

You mentioned if someone had another 'problem' to post about it here. Well here goes:

Holding the camera - for all the decades I've been shooting I never could get used to holding a camera the way I see almost everyone holding one with the left hand underneath the lens. It's not comfortable for my left hand and it interferes with getting smooth operation of the zoom ring or focus ring if I'm going manual focus. I hold it with my left hand thumb underneath the lens with the rest of the hand on the left side of the lens.

I’ve just recently gotten my first digital camera, foolishly I thought that because I shot raw, the files exported via the canon connect app, that way…I was wrong. Once I fixed my exporting error, I was blown away at the difference the raw photos made when editing. I say all that to say, that lasagna analogy is spot on.

I would add another composition technique related to #4. Shoot both Horizontal & Vertical frames of the same scene/subject. And then you have a choice of which orientation best matches the subject you are trying to record. It's not always horizontal or vertical. Take 2, they're free! ;-)

What photo problem do you think is the most important?

I also love to lay down in trees when I shoot 😂

I've made mistakes when shooting a landscape scene, but then some birds fly through. I wasn't anticipating the birds, so my shutter speed was too slow.

Forest, thanks, great content in your videos. I just upgraded my Sony A6000 to Sony A7 IV, Tamron 70-180 f2.8 lens primarily, as I mainly do sports photography of my kids teams: volleyball, football, tennis, and basketball ( indoor and outdoors so lighting varies..) I have been shooting in Jpeg and previously have done minimal editing on my laptop and haven't used a better editing program. Do you have suggestions for editing program? I don't have unlimited time to edit, and so what I have been doing is working, but just trying to improve things without spending hours editing or spending a ton.... Thanks again.
