I gave my daughter-in-law a stocking stuffer one year: a card saying that I would come and take care of the kids one day or morning each week, so that she could have a break. Sometimes she would do errands or go to the library, or stay home in her room with the door closed. It benefited her, the kids, and me! Idea for other grandmas.

At 12:40 you said “if I had a real job...”. Megan you have the most real job ever. I was raised by a mom that worked outside of the home. Never underestimate the value of what you do ( I know you value caring for you family and home )

I’ve been struggling so hard finding joy in being a SAHM, (even though I’m really trying) so I appreciate this video so much!!💗💗

When my now grown up men were little I would regularly take a “Starbucks break” IN MY OWN kitchen! They both knew I needed a little break from questions, locating lost legos…they would grant me these 15 minutes with my coffee in my kitchen…it was a “great room so I was really with them in the same room but It was “mom’s Starbucks time…nice music a good cup of coffee and I felt like a million bucks! They also learned that moms have feelings too and we all need a little time to ourselves. 🤗

My husband and I have been talking about this a lot too. We've struggled with overwhelm from running our coffee shop through these last few crazy years working from 6am to 9pm daily only taking Sundays off. Now both our cars broke down, our furnace went out, leak in our roof, our fridge broke, our vacuum and shampooer died, and we had 4 weeks of bronchitis that really threw us behind all since January. But we were talking about how we can either choose to complain or choose to look at the beauty of God helping us through these hard days. Our kids Sunday school teacher was asking everyone what they were thankful for and our 4th daughter told them that she was thankful her dad's car broke down because now she gets to see him more when we drive him to work. I love that she was thinking about the challenges in our life right now in a positive way. We can either choose to be miserable, or choose to be thankful and see the sunny side of things.

Can you please make more of these??? I don’t have kids yet, but I’m a planning-type person, and I love the idea of learning how to romanticize being a mom now before I have kids. It’s videos like these that I feel like will prepare me for the stage of life that’s coming up. Awesome video!

I'm only 16... but I'm totally with you in literally everything!! I find myself so much happier when I take care of myself, and take care of the house. A bubble bath, a walk down the lane, iced tea, cute clothes, a clean room, an amazing smelling candle, backround music, diffuser with lemon grass essential oil, my beautiful journal-- yeah, I could go on!! I so know what you mean!

I loved this video! These are all such practical things that actually do make you feel better, think better and take notice of the little things in life. My husband always encourages me to use the “good dishes”, burn the “good candles” and cuddle up with the “nice blankets” I mean, the dishes, candles and blankets are all from Home Goods or TJ Maxx, but still don’t just ONLY bring out the nice stuff for guests. We’re important too!!

Even though I no longer have little children in the house, at 63 yrs old I have a husband not in the greatest of health that I provide a lot of care for so this video spoke loudly to me. I started doing all of this in many ways about a month ago and can say even us older folks can and do benefit greatly from it :). We all need to take care of ourselves as best we can and little ways are often the best and easiest. Also, none of what you said sounded dumb at all. No matter how small a thing or action is, it is absolutely self care & absolutely important ❤️. ONe of my favorite things to do is no matter what I’m eating (even a snack) I love to make it an event, lol. Maybe a favorite plate, even a fancy paper plate or napkin, plate the food in a pretty way, etc…use a placemat that gives me joy..all the details! I promise you, whatever the food is it will taste even better and make you feel special, lol. PS: love your water idea!

I watched this late, but this really really helped. Thank you so much. I’m having one of those mental rough days and it’s not even 8am yet. I relate to you a lot and also learn from you. Thank you.

Love this video! My hobbies as a mom include taking care of my plants, finding and bringing in a new plant, making succulent arrangements (when my plants are neglected I'm usually stretched too thin lol). I also have a few essential oil diffusers around the house and I enjoy playing with different scents. One of my favorite for spring is lime and vanilla. I love to read and journal, but those don't always happen as often as I like. I'm teaching my daughters how they can journal and have a prayer journal so it's nice to do that together. :)

You have truly brought inspiration to me hearing this. I am a stay at home mom to a 6, 4 and 2 year old and I’m constantly cleaning. Not much time I feel to enjoy too much because I’m constantly busy with the cleaning, teaching and discipling my kids. This brought a breathe of fresh air to my body and mind. As the one comment said you are a true blessing and you should have more subscribers. You are amazing.

Hey Megan, I'm unmarried & have no kids and I still found a lot of value in this video (I do in all your videos:) ). It may feel slightly silly when you try to explain it, but those points are actual, actionable strategies to lift up one's mood. We all need it nowadays! So thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts on romanticising one's everyday life. I'd definitely love to hear more of your views on this topic. Have a wonderful day!

This is my favorit video :) The last thing i do before i go to bed is making my husbands lunch ( i sometimes put loveletters in his lunch box) I have dinner ready when he come home most days. i love to make him happy, and he works so hard to give us a good life. All my friends tell me i am a 50s wife... But i am home all the time, and i love it when our time together is spent on beeing with eachother :) Have a blessed day :)

I really enjoy and love your videos Megan! It’s so true when you said „Create those little moments in your life instead for waiting for the big things to happen.“ that’s so true and inspiring and motivational! Thanks for your content! Greetings from Germany 🌼✨🤎
