'Had a drink' does not mean 'had one drink'. Its an English euphemism when used in Britain.

That must have been one hell of a strong drink.

What baffles me is why these people EVER get their licences back.

Can't carry open containers in the car either. Some molecules of alcohol may escape, go up your nose, and you're instantly blind drunk.

Drink drive sounds so innocuous. We call it Drunk driving in the USA, and it is bad.

One drink and a person is rendered blind-ass drunk? No, that notion is a blind-ass lie. But the terrible part is the stupidity of an over-dramatization that can only be described as an intellectual turn-off. That's besides being also ineffective and counter productive. What a shame.

I'm sorry for your loss but one drink? You're blaming the accident on one drink? I'm sorry, he made a mistake but I don't think alcohol had anything to do with it. If I misheard, I apologize.
