Missed this one last week - but just saw it & in defense of what some might call “dated” or even “bland” styling I think BMW knows its market & instead of flash, gives the owner exceptional power, understated elegance & the undisputed message that he or she has arrived!! It’s nice but it desperately needs a real refresh/redesign for the interior. The dash and screen on my 2021 3 series is nicer in my opinion. As far as the most luxurious in the segment, that still goes to the S Class.

Nice review. Love my 2012 750Li, think I'll wait to see what they do with the next gen though, lol. Also, just a tip, you can press and hold the driver-shade button and all the shades will deploy/retract. ;)

The exterior still looks good(the grille has even grown on me), especially since MB lost the distinctive stately look of the S-Class. But the interior is severely dated against that Benz or even something like Genesis G90. BMW needs an entirely new interior direction after having served this basic design for decades. I really hope they go radically different in their upcoming electrification revolution.

You overlooked the hot and cold control under the front vent, which I think is a redundant feature because when you adjust the vent duration, it will move the direction of hot and cold panel so easily that cause a sudden hot or cold situation.

Im on my 3rd BMW. NEVER had a problem. I know people with MB and cars are in the shop ir having issues.

The 2022 7series is redesigned with a new interior.

Imagine buying a $103K flagship car and not having standard cooled seats? Non-standard leather dash?(and the graining of the plastic dash is a bit low-rent)? Yes, the S580 is more expensive, but it does come with a far more premium interior and more standard features.
