Wifey bought me the Atreides version for my birthday. Good wife.

Looking forward to making it myself, and looking forward to your build.

Looks like it might be like the Bandai Star Wars kits, ie. they can snap together but are probably better with glue for anyone who knows what they're doing.

The films are really impressive. Amazing visuals, great storyline. Some iconic vehicles. Look forward to seeing it done and painted

Wanted a model of the ornithopter after watching the Dune movies awhile ago but held off on the teensy-tiny one that Meng released first. Then bought this 1/72 scale kit when it came out. Will follow your build of it when you start Nige.

Having read all the Dune books, no one is the good guy.

believe the bottom is snap on/off for landing gear up and down, Nigel. The Atreides ornithopter seemed to work the same way as I recall. Nice kits. well done buddy. Dane

Evening Nige, I built this one a while back. its a bit of its own style, but the engineering is mint and it falls together in a really impressive way, and actually dun brown and sand weathering is a very rewarding paint job for very little effort. These are Excellent kits, build it. it takes a straight six hours from clipping the first part to leaving the enamel sand filter to dry.

Looks a lot like a Bandai style kit. I like Meng kits as they usually build well but their instructions often require interpretation rather than just following them. Sci-fi builds are my mojo recovery builds.

Very nice Nige. Awesome craft. Appreciate the review. I did the 144 one. Cheers

Looks a very nice kit. Imagine if MENG had done it in 1/48 or 1/35 scale? That would be massive.

the only bad side of this kit is the huge location points of the clear parts. they show up terribly on the finished model

Its the Atriedes, the main difference in the models is the Haarkonian version has a lot more weapons on it.

You mean the: Artreides ornithopter (Phil Flory) did a review on that.

The Harkonnen are the 'bad guys' in Dune. The Atreides are the 'good guys'

I do believe it is a Snap together kit. Mentions of glue are probably generic warning labels added to every box design.
EDIT: Get yourself a staple remover at some stationery shop, it will make your life easier :)
