Color Detection Tutorial using OpenCV

Here in this tutorial we made a simple color detection to 2 balls and trying to know which one is red and which one is blue.

Nice video thanks! May I ask a question? In a 3 channel image, we have 3 +1 elements. These are: intensity of B, G, R channels and the foruth one is the alpha channel . Correct? I don't understand the link between these pixel values and the luminance of an image..do you have any suggest or do you know something I can read about?
