I adopted my cousin's O'Neal Highbush Southern Blueberry who moved from SoCal to TN. I put it in a weather proofed half wine barrel. Now that it has settled in, I'm getting blueberries 2 years later. I find that pine needles as mulch is working!

Love our blueberries. We expanded to an extra 60’ row this year. Peat and pine bark soil conditioner are excellent soil amendments.

You gave an awesome lesson Jeff! I was at a nursery today and almost bought 3 plants. But, it dawned on me that I wasn't prepared for them ahead of time. It was 3 hours round trip. So maybe next year. Enjoyed, take care!

You are great at keeping what you say simple and clear. Why not start a "Gardening for Kids" channel?

Hi Jeff. Thanks for this video. I decided to wait to do the blueberries. I'm only a beginner, and this might sound weird, but I'm excited, nervous, and overwhelmed with the veggies I have started now. But then again, since it takes a while to mature. Oh, I don't know. I'll let ya know if I do. I saved this video in case. Thanks honey Take care❤

We’ve had issues with growing new blueberry bushes on our property. I was watching a blueberry farmer that said he put pine bark mulch in the planting hole With all his plants. So we tried that with our new bushes and so far they are looking great. I hope it continues. He also said that down here in the deep south they seem to do better with a little bit of afternoon shade so we took that into consideration as well. We have one large bush that was here when we bought the property thank goodness. It has produced like crazy so I know we can grow them here. I just haven’t been able to.

Great advice. I planted my blueberries (Chippewa) last week. Unfortunately I failed to free up the roots. I hope they do well.🤞
