Thank you for this overview! I appreciate your attention to the details regarding incubator types, substrates, ect. I had great success with my first clutch using a DIY Igloo cooler, Orbeez in the egg box, eggs on top of a light diffuser, Temperature at 87.1F, humidity 99%. If you're soaking your vermiculite and using a light diffuser, consider using orbeez. Snakes can't drown in them if they get under the diffuser, and the humidity was perfect.

As someone who is new to the ball python world with aspirations of breeding I have been looking into incubators and came to the conclusion that I was going to make one as cost is an issue for a Wilbanks/Seaserpents and those others seem sub par. My oldest/largest female I am hoping to breed in 6-8 months so have been doing research for a while now. This video has given me a lot of good information and I thank you.

Good Content Dude🤘
I Use a home made Incubator, it works well since 15years.

I started adventure Feb 2024 collecting balls. A few of them I let pair but none went off. Mysteriously one of my females laid in October, but didn't know she was gravid. I didn't have incubator set yet. Well I got it set up later that day or so I thought. Turns out I didn't have enough heat and lost the whole clutch 4 eggs. So after that I got it properly set right heat and thermometer inside to physically see the temp. One of my girls laid April 1st. So far eggs are looking eggscellent 😂. In the box I'm using a defuser sitting on top of 1.5in PVC tubes cut discs only water in bottom. So far so good.

As someone who’s getting into brewing for the first year it’s a bit overwhelming to know what’s the best option for the price. Thanks for the great info

There is a fine line.
It all depends on your setup.
I built my own.
The temperature was fluctuating too much until I removed the fan.
Good video, do one about incubation mistakes and the defects it causes.

Those ink bird thermostats are good in my experience, obviously there's better but I think you can get all the same features

My plan was to buy a Wilbanks. But being in Canada and the state of affairs that's now on hold. So I will buy another from cornels world this year or build 1. Hopefully the $ and the tariff fiasco gets sorted

This might actually be the one equipment I'll just get the premium for, 4 seasons and well over 60c° fluctuations between the seasons, the plug in and relax option for something so fragile sounds good :)

Why with reptiles is there not one company that does everything right?!? lol I swear, I find an issue or design flaws with any and every enclosure, incubator, feeding tongs. The only thing that hasn't let me down with my retics were my snake hooks lol. Heartland seems to be the best enclosures for retics from what I've seen. Heavy duty, sturdy, lasts a lifetime.
Wilbanks made a nice looking incubator, but I hate how big of a gap the door lock allows the door open before it stops it, and the buttons are inside and the "turn on light" and "power" button are right next to each other and look and feel the same :-(
But if anyone else knows a better enclosure and incubator, please let me know!
