This video will make sense of ball python genetics. We'll cover recessive, dominant, co-dominant, and incomplete dominant genes - and what they do to your snakes. You'll learn why your "normal" looks so different than the normal you just saw at the pet store.

That whole Kent piece about the coloring time had me absolutely rolling, rolling like seeing step brothers for the first time😂

Genetics is a confusing topic, but this definitely helps. I might have to rewatch this one several times still. Also, I love your coloring pages, you did a great job with them.

Definitely helped me understand hets a little more then I thought. Really makes me want to invest in a visual pied female to pair with my banana cinni for that guaranteed 1 copy of the gene for a male to then breed to my female Enchi pinstripe who is 100%het for pied to in hopes get banana pieds

Thank you for your clear explanation! It's really complicated at first but once you get your head around it (as with most things) it's so simple 🙂

Wonderful video and explanation of genetics! We just learned some of this stuff in class so it’s always nice to see the applications of what you learn. I’m looking to get a ball python as an ESA and quickly became confused by the terminology, but now it makes a bit more sense!

Another great video, that explains a topic that many struggle to understand; in a factual yet humorous way. Facebook is full of people asking the questions that you address in this video. I think a problem people can’t get their heads around, is that in the snake world we don’t use the genetic terms correctly (which you address). Incomplete dominant - co Dom, Why they can’t get visuals from a single recessive genes snake etc....

Really enjoying watching through your content. Keep up your refreshing, entertaining approach. The way you have mixed facts and light humour makes learning about Royal Pythons relevant to all ages.

Keep working on that colouring, you did well to stay in lines 🤣

Bob-loving all your content! Thanks so much for this. I was at my local reptile shop last week and they had lots of babies, but I couldn't wrap my head around what the color names meant. Now, I feel like I have a bit of a grip on that. Also, could you maybe do a video on which morphs to stay away from and which ones are okay? P.S while I was at the shop, I got to hold a 3 foot axanthic (pretty sure she was axanthic) female. I fell in love. But I'm not sure if I should stick with a baby or go the adult route as that store had a few adults. Maybe another topic for a future video? GRP Rocks!
