How to use an Intel NUC as your streaming PC

Intel's NUC systems are ultra-compact PCs that pack a surprising amount of power, which makes them a good fit for streamers looking to offload some of the work of a stream to an external system without needing to find room for another full desktop tower. In this video JC covers a few of the different NUC models to know, including the Ghost Canyon, Hades Canyon, and Frost Canyon options, and explains the basic hardware you'll need in order to start streaming. He also walks you through the basic steps required to get everything set up.

One reason to consider the GPU-capable NUC is the nVidia encoder on the RTX cards. Just a 2060 is sufficient. No real need to spend the money on the 2070 if it's not your direct gaming rig.

or avoid the capture card and use OBS NDI, you get the same quality... not sure why they don't mention this, it's free and does a great job and helps for those on a budget

I figured this would show how the PCIe slots in the Ghost Canyon NUC could be used for video I/O. Waste of time putting a gaming graphics card in a NUC built as a streaming PC, with the money saved you could have 4-8 HDMI/SDI inputs instead, PER SLOT; that would be a streaming PC...

1) In order to game and stream AAA games simultaneously in the same NUC at 1080p 60 FPS do I need at least the dragon canyon NUC or the phantom one will do?
2) If I already have a dedicated streaming OC, can I use the Phantom Canyon just for gaming?
3) Can I use Egpu for gaming + streaming in the Phantom Canyon?

This is stupid, I thought we'd be on about using the Intel iGPU as the stream, but you're using a $300 or something capture card, so there's absolutely no point in adding a NUC ASWELL tot he setup, just nuts.

Sadly, i've tried this before, and it's nearly impossible to set up to use like this. I was using a laptop mind you, but followng these instruction only works for consoles, if you plan on using your gaming PC as an actual gaming PC with 144hz and no latency, i would stay far away from this 'solution'
