That was a great video man! Really impressed with how fluid the whole lesson felt.

Would really like to see this applied as a simple run over a chord progression where the flavor/mood remains either consistently happy or dark or both. This is where I get stuck especially when the progression includes minor chords but the feel is happy etc. Perhaps a lesson idea for later?

Great stuff thank you. Interesting to see Leavitt's book behind you on the stand, I'm working through that myself and find it very good.

This guy is like the Musical Jesus for me - I've learnt so much in less than a day. It just makes sense to me.

Just a bump for an undiscovered gem. Find these really useful.

A wonderful exercise - just wish you made this for 3 notes-per-string (which is how I am used to practicing a mode but I'll modify it accordingly). Thanks!

Hi: like a previous post: do you have a video showing how to use the modes in the context of a song? Thanks! 🎸

It is better to think of the bottom note as the 3rd degree of each mode. Then the fingerings will match the E chord form. You can play the root note with your thumb on the 6th string. Or play the desired seventh chord type and then the appropriate mode. Root will be on the first string under the first finger.

It’s not a bass guitar
You should use all the strings
