Junichi Hayama, who was the director as well as a character designer for the film, was actually asked about why it never received a home release. He said “I don’t want you to see me angry or pissed off, so it’s better if I don’t answer this question.”

Based on that statement, I’m inclined to believe the theory that the loss of distribution rights just came at the absolute worst moment, which is why we don’t have a home release

It is said that this film was hated by fans and Hirohiko Araki (the creator) due to a few important bits being cut. This includes Speedwagon, who only appears in the movie for a few minutes, and sadly doesn't have any part to play in the film.

I wanna see it so badly man, the curiosity has been killin me since I found out about this a few years ago. It sucks so many people got offended from Dio reading the Quran especially since it was JUST him studying the worlds culture. Plus he was in Egypt so like what else was supposed to be used, the Bible?

Ah, I remember when this film was first announced, I was so excited. Couldn't stop listening to Voodoo Kingdom. I still say someone somewhere in Japan can hook us up with *something*, it's just a matter of making a push to communicate on a large scale.

There was a trailer that featured a different artstyle. It was discovered on a promo cd like 3 or 4 years ago iirc. It had a very low amount of views but it was legit. I wish I can find it again.
