Which type of EVSE is right for you?

If you are installing your EVSE outdoors, a hardwired EVSE is the recommended option. Hardwired EVSEs also provide a more reliable connection, making them a good choice for high-traffic areas or commercial applications.

If you are installing your EVSE in a garage and you have an existing 240-volt outlet, a plug-in EVSE may be a good option for you. Plug-in EVSEs are also easier to install, making them a good choice for DIYers.

Can I charge my EV outside in the rain?

Yes, you can charge your EV outside in the rain. EVSEs are designed to be weatherproof and have a NEMA 4 rating, which means they are sealed against dust and water. Your EV's charging port is also sealed, so there is no risk of water damage.
