I usually modify under some stairs for children to have a little nook to play in. It depends on where the stairs are and how much space there is though.

Oh! I am going to build off #3 but referencing #1: You can delete the underside of and that includes the underside of one tile stairs.
It is a good little quick cash tip of you need it for R2R playthrough or you are budget building.

I didn't know the ctrl thing! Haha but I love my under stair nooks! I've done desks, laundry, pet areas, plants, book nooks, holiday storage if you like the cluttered messy look. So many fun ideas

Instead of putting a desk underneath the stairs like that, if you have multiple floors you can put more stairs underneath it, just make sure they have that gap under them
