To say I love health & fitness tech or “biohacking” would be an understatement ; )

But, in reality, there are only so many devices, gadgets, and wearables you can use and track at any one time…

So when I was trying to decide between the very best wearable in the industry (right now) I narrowed it down to the Apple Watch vs. the Oura Ring…

And on today’s #CabralConcept 1987 I break down in a head-to-head battle the Apple watch vs. the Oura Ring to see which one is the winner for biohacking your health.

Enjoy!

NEW HERE?
Hi, I’m Stephen Cabral, Board Certified Doctor of Naturopathy and Integrative Health Practitioner.

For years I struggled with trying to figure out how to overcome multiple life-alternating illnesses such as auto-immune, Addisons, type 2 diabetes, digestive, allergies, insomnia, and debilitating fatigue.

Then I discovered a mentor who taught me how to combine and integrate multiple health practices into one. From there I tested these theories by traveling all around the world and discovering how to finally help people rebalance their bodies and live the life they always wanted.

I’m happy to say that after being shown the way and now creating my own proven protocols based on combining the best of ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with state-of-the-art Functional Medicine my team and I have completed over 250,000 appointments helping people just like you and I.

If you’re interested in getting well, losing weight, or living longer stronger, I look forward to helping you to accomplish those goals. Be well and please always reach out if you have any questions or if my team and I can be of service!

Oura just went to a monthly subscription model to get to your data. I think that’s a mistake and turning off a lot of their customers as it’s making it expensive compared to Apple Watch which can do much more.

I was thinking about getting the oura ring 3 but the subscription fee made me change my mind. I don't want to pay extra fees a month to get my information.

I dont think a monthly subscription is that bad considering the types of insights you get. Apple fitness is not good at all without an another app (which will have a monthly subscription anyway)

Great review. But it needs an update now. Apple watch is far better at tracking sleep now, than aura😅 Thx for great content

Hi. I’ve watched a few videos where the oura ring sleep tracking isn’t very accurate and oura aren’t providing any recent studies showing other wise. What’s your opinion on this ?

I was ready to purchase the Oura Ring until I read an overwhelming number of complaints about the company's poor customer service. That is the most important component to me.

Great review. Thank you. Just a note EMF, fields not frequencies.

This is by far the best comparison on the two devices I’ve been considering. Thamks so much!

Good video, I think they recommend you have it on your index finger for best results.

He said the Apple Watch detects blood pressure “sort of” which is not true. I think he meant blood ox? Apple didn’t bother to make a real sleep app but provided the health app as a storage place for data that other people can use. He neglected to mention any of the awesome sleep apps that even apple recommends during sleep setup. For example, AutoSleep (for a one time $5 charge, no subscription) does all of that stuff he said the Watch doesn’t do like variable heart rate, readiness, etc. That would have changed his opinion of the Apple Watch for sleep analysis. For me, there is no chance I’m going to wesr that ring especially if I already have an awesome Apple Watch on my wrist (that also tells the time and many other things)!

Great review and comparison! Oura is really more comfortable than smart watches and the battery life is really awesome! It tackles a more holistic and wellness approach compared to smart watches that tracks activity and fitness. Another interesting thing is it detects illness before you feel anything. You can actually protect its beauty without sacrificing biometrics and comfort with an OSleeve.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on WHOOP!

Interesting video. In the Quantified Scientist he shows that the Apple Watch is better than most of the health trackers out there. And that the Oura ring, despite performing good in some aspects, is not even close to the Apple Watch in terms of heart rate and sleep tracking. Even though I own a Fitbit Charge lol 😂

An Apple Watch a day keeps the doctor away #Oura

Thanks for including swimming in your review! How long does the Oura ring battery last for (by which I mean #years, not hours of charge) I read it lasts for up to 7 days of charge, fine… but what happens when the battery dies?

Are you going to get Oura Ring 3? I have Apple Watch 7 and Oura Ring 2 and love them both, they both offer something different.

I think at some point Apple will add temp sensors and sensor for blood sugars etc
