Just a heads up, I definitely think all megas are good, but removing the ability to hold an item really is a problem for some of them and you’re way better off using other megas instead

Fun fact:
In pokemon lore, Garchomp is evolved to be the most aerodinamically possible, so he is at his peak of speed in normal form, when you mega evolve him you change his aerodynamics, making him slower, the stats just reflects this fact

Mega Alakazam is a straight improvement. That added speed makes it outrun several scarf users while STILL hitting like a truck.

Life Orb or Alakazam might hit harder, but Mega is faster. Going from 120 to 150 is extremely important, especially in metagames with Megas

The difference between Zam and Latios is Zam gets much faster, which is why it is good. You could run a Scarf Zam, but it will be objectively worse than Scarf Lele. Mega-Zam gets to be fast and strong, which regular Zam does not get. Also, Mega-Zam can abuse certain abilities like Regenerator, which regular Zam can also not do.

Was about to say I know you weren't about to do my boy Swampert dirty like that. Getting a super bulky one weakness having physical sweeper with swift swim making it faster than a lot of mons is amazing. Especially if you pair it with a drizzle Pokemon.

Mega Alakazam is apparently banned in competitive national dex because it now has access to nasty plot

Mega Zam is essentially holding a life orb with that FORTY extra special attack. Not to mention the quarter of a choice scarf with the THIRTY extra speed - while retaining the ability to change moves. Trace absolutely has its uses as well.

you didn't even mention mega lati's bulk, which goes up significantly from the base forme and is a major reason to use it. also the phys attack is relevant, earthquake is good to hit steels
