SpaceX Artificial Gravity Concept station VS International Space Station

preview_player
Показать описание
An Artificial Gravity Space Station flying close to the ISS (international space station) to compare the size between the two stations.
This concept combines the AGC (Artificial Gravity Connector),
OMT (Orbital Mega Tanker) and an extended Lunar Starship top part to form this space station. The rotation of the Habitation modules is around 2RPM (rounds per minute).
The internal volume of both the rotating habitats combined would be around 3 times bigger than the ISS.

In the future I am planning to create a Space Station with artificial gravity with walkways in between the habitats and put more research into it and stuff. perhaps with some interiors and all that sweet stuff.

The main problem I see with this design is that for all intensive purposes it’s three separate space stations attached with scaffolding. 2 modules with spin gravity a large distance apart, and what I have assuming it a place for storage/experiments it the middle, so to get to anywhere you need to do a space walk. If you want the modules to spin independently of the center piece so it doesn’t have any “gravity” it would be easier to have another set of modules on the other side of the core, spinning in the opposite direction.

that gantry would have insane stresses on it like that.

Thank you for your hard work. We all are space family. I hope Elon will live long to help humanity

That concept would essentially make the ISS environment obsolete.

Great idea and animation! Some comments have mentioned problems perhaps with traversing between the modules. But I think this would be a configuration for long duration space flights - where the rotation would be "spun up" only after the craft were underway to its destination, (e.g., Mars). Perhaps a collapsible or inflatable "tunnel" would connect to the two modules only when access were necessary, (while boarding, loading, etc.) Can't wait for the future!!

I miss these types of concepts, I always try to recreate them in KSP and SFS, but for now I will have to wait. Could you design a starship with solar sails? It would be a very interesting concept, and although it is true that the thrust would be little due to the great weight of the starship (1600 tons approx) I believe that a sail of 200 meters in diameter could solve the weight! Good luck with your personal works and I look forward to a new concept of the great starship!

Me parece un extraordinario concepto para viajar a Marte y más allá. Creo que podría ser realizable así como lo planteas aunque carezco de los conocimientos necesarios como para poder dar una opinión objetiva. No lo veo es tan necesario para ir a la Luna.

Maybe use the StarShip parts to built a station as complex as the ISS.

Can something with artificial gravity pull stuff toward it? Or do I not understand it?

if this was done in space already, the iss would've retired by then.

Great concepts and I love your renderings. Can I suggest you stop discarding the aft tank section, that is a lot of volume going to waste. If they transport the building materials up with them they can finish the internal of the tanks into additional livable habitats. All they would need, is to connect an access hatch between the ship and tank after orbit and the are empty tanks in space. During construction all the brackets can be fitted in the tanks prior to fueling so when the arrive in space it's just assembly within the tank itself. Of course they would need to seal off all of the vent and engine openings. They could even return the engines for additional flights during a resupply return. It is about time we start actual construction in space and not just mating module to module. This is my concept for the moon starship too. Bring a return capsule as cargo and leave the starship on the moon as the first base and begin building out the tanks for more space.

Outstanding! With a rpm of 2.2, which people hardly notice, assuming 170m radius to bottom deck of Starships, you have Earth gravity.
